Bioinformatician Immuno-Oncology

If you are passionate about computational biology and would like to leverage your skills to help create breakthrough immunotherapies, we might have just the right role for you. You have a chance to join our interdisciplinary team of people devoted to their craft. You will help to develop innovative solutions in the area of cancer treatment with particular focus on data processing, analytics, and modelling. You will be using cutting-edge techniques, for example, to design immune cell receptors matching selected targets on cancer cells. We aim to create breakthrough immunotherapies by combining AI methods with bioinformatics, molecular dynamics, chemoinformatics, and immunological insights.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Working in a multidisciplinary Ardigen’s R&D team including bioinformaticians, cheminformaticians, biologists, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software engineers
  • Designing and applying bioinformatics methods to solve problems in Immuno-oncology by leveraging and combining information obtained from various datasets (NGS, ‘omics, binding assays, mass-spectroscopy, etc.)
  • Implementing and deploying biological data analysis methods and tools
  • Approaching and solving complex scientific problems
  • Staying up to date with current research on bioinformatics methods
Requirements
  • MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or a related field
  • Relevant work experience as a bioinformatician/computational biologist
  • Hands-on experience in projects related to NGS data analysis and sequence-based analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, or proteomic data sets 
  • Experience in bioinformatics research design, planning, and execution
  • Knowledge and experience in areas such as immunology, cancer biology, protein biochemistry, protein interactions, and molecular biology techniques
  • Proficiency in using bioinformatics databases, algorithms, and tools  (such as NCBI, TCGA, RCSB PDB, UniProt, ENSEMBL, GO, BLAST, MSA, GATK, BioPython/Bioconductor packages, etc.) in a UNIX-based environment
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R and good programming practices
  • Experience with distributed version control systems (Git or equivalent)
  • Experience in bash scripting
  • Proven track record of publications and presentation skills
  • Advanced English

  • Knowledge of the newest findings in immunotherapy, immunology, or cancer biology or experience in projects in these domains
  • Hands-on experience in projects involving Data Science or molecular modeling
  • Experience in creating pipelines in nextflow or equivalent
  • Statistical competence (such as Bayesian inference, A/B testing, significance testing, etc.)
  • Experience in working along the principles of Agile
