Job description

• Working in a multidisciplinary team including cheminformaticians, software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers
• Designing and applying methods based on machine learning and deep learning to solve various problems in precision medicine
• Implementing and deploying machine learning models using Python (using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and others)
• Staying up to date with current research and methodology on applying machine learning and deep learning to life sciences

Requirements

• MSc in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, cheminformatics, computational biology/chemistry, or a related field
• Hands-on experience in projects using methodology from various areas of data science: deep learning, machine learning, statistical learning, data mining, natural language processing, or big data solutions
• Working knowledge and intuition on statistical and machine learning methods and concepts (regression, classification, validation procedures, dimensionality reduction, clustering, feature selection, data mismatch, etc.)
• Programming skills in Python and good programming practices
• Experience with distributed version control systems (Git or equivalent)
• Ability and willingness to pass knowledge to others
• Team player with good communication skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (at least the B2 level)

• Life Science knowledge or experience in projects in that domain
• Statistical competence (such as Bayesian inference, A/B testing, significance testing, etc.)
• Experience with deep learning libraries (Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
• Experience with tools related to an efficient machine learning life cycle, such as Docker, Kubernetes, MLFlow, trains, kubeflow
• Experience in working with AWS or equivalent
• Cloud computing using Spark, Hive, Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, etc.
• Experience in using R, Julia, Matlab or Scala in the data science context 
• Experience in working along the principles of Agile/Scrum
