Scientific data visualization for drug discovery
Your analysis is useful only when scientists can act on it. We build interactive tools that let biologists and decision-makers explore the evidence directly.
Ardigen provides scientific data visualization for drug discovery and visualization-focused application development for life sciences R&D. We turn model outputs, omics, imaging and phenotypic data into interactive, production-ready interfaces designed around scientific questions rather than generic business dashboards.
Where computational outputs lose their impact
The analysis is done. The model has run. The results are real. But they sit in a notebook only one person can open, in a format no one outside computational biology can read.
This is where most R&D teams lose the value of their computational work. Biologists cannot see which genes drive a cluster without filing a ticket. Decision-makers cannot
review the evidence behind a target prioritization. A rich phenotypic screening dataset has no interface anyone can explore.
The problem is not your data or your models. It is the missing interface layer, the one that turns computational outputs into something scientists can navigate, question, and act on.
Why generic software fails biological data
Omics matrices, high-content imaging, network graphs, pathway maps. Biological data does not behave like business data, and software built on generic enterprise patterns shows it.
Ardigen’s scientific software engineering practice makes different choices. Visualization follows the biological structure of your data. Interaction design follows how scientists actually test hypotheses. Every application is built to production standards: deployable, maintainable, and integrated with your data infrastructure.
From outputs to tools your scientists use
Data interface
design
We work with your computational and scientific teams to define the questions the tool must answer and how each user, from biologists to program leaders, will work with it. Design starts from scientific workflow, not generic UX.
Visualization engineering
Build interactive views for dimensionality reduction, omics heatmaps, pathways, networks, imaging galleries, morphological features and compound-phenotype relationships as required by the use case.
Scientific application development
Full-stack development, from internal exploration tools to production platforms running in live R&D workflows. Applications are version-controlled, documented, and built for your team to maintain after handover.
Pipeline and platform integration
Tools connect to the systems they depend on: databases, warehouses, pipelines, and model outputs. Results stay current and appear in context, not in isolation.
What your scientists can finally do
Explore model outputs without code. Open prioritization scores, cluster assignments and predictions without writing scripts or waiting for an analyst.
Read omics, imaging and phenotypic data in biological context. Use annotations and domain-relevant visual structure to interpret patterns, not only statistics.
Work outside the notebook. Move dashboards into maintained, access-controlled applications embedded in R&D workflows.
Explore pathways and networks. Interact with enrichment results, protein-interaction networks and regulatory relationships.
See the evidence behind a decision. Give program leaders and translational teams a traceable, filterable view of the reasoning behind a prioritization.

Concrete, reusable deliverables
Scientific dashboards and exploration tools, deployable in your infrastructure environment.
Interactive omics, imaging, and phenotypic visualization applications with biological annotation layers.
Pathway, network, and relationship visualization tools built for your data and use case.
Production-grade web applications with documentation, version control, and handover to internal teams.
Integration with your existing platforms, pipelines, and model outputs, not standalone tools that need manual data loading.
What changes for your team
Decisions backed by evidence, not summaries
Program decisions rest on interactive evidence interfaces. The reasoning behind a prioritization stays visible and open to challenge across disciplines.
Self-service exploration
Routine data exploration moves from ticket-based analyst requests to direct scientific access, so researchers query datasets themselves instead of waiting in a queue.
Tools that last
Documented, production-deployed applications remove single-point dependencies on individual notebooks, and extend to new datasets without a rebuild.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from general BI tools like Tableau or Power BI?
BI tools are built for business data: tabular, low-dimensional, standard chart types. Biological data does not fit that model. We build applications where the visualization logic follows the biological structure of the data, the interaction design reflects how scientists explore hypotheses, and the rendering handles the scale of high-dimensional biomedical datasets.
BI tools need heavy workarounds for this. Purpose-built scientific applications do not.
Can you build on our existing data infrastructure and pipelines?
Yes, and it is usually the preferred approach. These applications are most useful when they connect to live data: current pipeline outputs, updated database queries, fresh model predictions.
We scope the integration as part of design and build connectors to your systems, whether that is a cloud data warehouse, an internal database, or a pipeline output directory.
What does the delivery process look like?
Engagements follow a structured design, build, deploy path: requirements and user research with your scientific stakeholders, then iterative prototyping, full development, testing with end users, and deployment.
You receive source code, documentation, and a handover so your internal teams can maintain and extend the application. Scope and timeline depend on complexity.
Are you tied to a specific technology stack?
No. We select technologies based on your use case, your infrastructure, and your team’s capabilities. That may mean interactive frameworks like Shiny, Streamlit, and Dash, or custom frontends built with React, D3.js, and Plotly.
The guiding principle is fitness for purpose, not lock-in to one technology.
Can the application visualize multimodal data?
Yes, when the underlying data has already been integrated and modeled appropriately. This page covers the application and visualization layer. Data harmonization and multimodal integration should be scoped separately where the source data is not yet analysis-ready.

Discuss your application requirements. Let's build the interface your science needs.?
Computational outputs that scientists cannot interrogate are investments that do not pay off. If your analysis is done but your interface layer is not, the work is not finished.
